Social Studies is a fashion company championing regenerative retail: a curated, community-led movement reshaping the fashion ecosystem and inspiring a more conscious way to consume.
VISION
To live in a world where the organic and the fabricated - human and nature - exist in symbiotic harmony.
MISSION
To help people shop better by rethinking retail in a way that gives back, thinks ahead, and connects everything.

We’re Dan and Jess, the people behind Social Studies.
We’ve been working in fashion for longer than we care to count (let’s call it 15–20 years), with time spent at some of the biggest brands in the US and Canada. Along the way, we also worked closely with smaller, independent labels. Over time, one thing became very clear: the retail system isn’t built to support everyone the way it should.
We’ve also always cared deeply about the environmental and human impact of what we buy. And honestly, it often felt like choosing responsibly meant giving something up—too much digging, too many compromises, and a lot of vague promises. Sorting through greenwashing, waiting months for international shipping, unexpected duties, and complicated returns made doing the “right” thing feel unnecessarily hard. Secondhand can be a great option too, but that often comes with its own time investment and inevitable size disappointment.
So we built Social Studies to make it simpler. Social Studies brings together a tightly curated mix of brands from around the world that are doing thoughtful, responsible work without asking you to jump through hoops. Everything lives under one roof. Returns are easy. US duties are already paid. From hats to socks and everything in between, it’s all here.
At its core, Social Studies is about community. It’s about understanding the connection between what you wear and its impact on people, the planet, and animals. Progress doesn’t have to be perfect or overwhelming. It just has to start.
People are already doing great work every day. We’re here to help you discover it. We built a fashion ecosystem designed to give back to people, planet, and animals.
