&Daughter only works with small scale, local artisan makers in the protected regions of the Scottish Borders & the West Coast of Ireland. Their products are made through the traditional knitwear methods of "fully fashioning" which requires expert crafts people who have been trained and specialize in bespoke hand-finished knitwear. They partner with their makers to invest in local community employment to help protect and nurture this heritage craft. &Daughter only work with natural fibers. Wool is made from renewable atmospheric carbon. When disposed of, wool acts like a fertilizer by slowly releasing valuable nutrients and carbon back into the soil. Wool is renewable, recyclable and biodegradable. Wool, by nature is a circular fiber. They work with 5 yarns, and 5 makers with 90% of the wool they work with as Responsible Wool Standard-certified.
