SHIPPING

Social Studies was created because shopping for future-friendly fashion too often meant sacrificing something - often paying for international shipping and waiting forever for it to cross the globe in a single package (not great for emissions either). If it could be returned (big if), it often costs even more money and time. WE GOT YOU. Everything you see is already in the US, tariffs already paid, and ready to rock.

All orders are shipped from Connecticut via UPS or USPS, with free economy shipping for orders over $300 USD or the equivalent in CAD (excluding AK & HI). We do our best to get orders out the door within 24 hours, but it can take 2-3 business days sometimes. Orders placed on Fri, Sat, or Sun will be processed the following week and we give our teams major holidays off, so please consider these dates into processing times. While we're big fans of mother nature, sometimes she messes with us so please be patient if things are delayed due to storms, wind, or other forces of nature.

DELIVERY

Once processed, you'll get an email with a tracking number, as well as additional emails when your order is both "out for delivery" and when it has been delivered. All packages are mailed without signature, so please make sure the delivery location is secure. If your package is lost in-transit, we'll do our best to help and deal with either UPS and USPS. However, we can't be responsible for what happens after the package is delivered, so please make sure your delivery address is secure from theft.

PACKAGING

Our boxes are made in the USA with 95% post-consumer waste, which uses less water and energy than new virgin materials - and without the risk of deforestation. It’s also printed with ink that uses algae cells for pigments, making it bio-based and safer to work with than carbon black ink, which is made from burning petroleum.

We think that’s pretty cool.

RETURNS

We were always frustrated by how difficult it was to return orders from outside the US and we've found that many of the designers doing the best work in our space happen to be international - about 70% of the brands we carry are international to the United States. SACRIFICE NO MORE! We've got free returns for eligible items within 14 days.

You need to follow the golden rule to be eligible. Items must be in the same condition you received it: tags on, unused, unaltered, odor-free, and in the original packaging. We’ll do the best we can and be real human beings about it, but need to reserve the right to refuse a return if things are too messed up since you'd likely be suspicious if something showed up in any of those ways. Returns which do not meet these requirements cannot be refunded and will be shipped back to the original delivery address with a heads up email beforehand.

The 14-day free return period is measured from when the order is delivered to when the return is scanned into the UPS or USPS system. To start a return, visit our Returns Portal. Please don’t use the Returns Portal to cancel an order – instead, send us a note at "orders@socialstudiesshop.com". Assuming its good, we’ll send you a prepaid shipping label with instructions for getting it back to us. We can’t accept returns that go rogue and show up without notice. Items purchased in a bundle or promo must be returned in a bundle.

SALE ITEMS

Sale and discounted items are final sale and not eligible for returns, exchanges, or store credit. Purchases made with welcome offers or free shipping discounts are excluded and remain eligible for free returns, subject to our Return Policy.

REFUNDS

Refunds are issued once the item has been received and processed. We'll do our best to do so quickly, but please allow for up to 10 days. Once we issue the refund, it may take up to 10 business days for your financial institution to make funds available in your account.

EXCHANGES

Unfortunately, direct exchanges are not available. Instead, a new order must be placed for the preferred item and the original order must be returned.

EXCLUDED ITEMS

We cannot accept returns for gift cards or final sale items. Using a welcome discount code does not affect eligibility. Purchases made by gift card or store credit are eligible for exchange or store credit only.
