Axis Wrap Skirt - Hydro
Click to learn more ↘
A delicate knee-length silk skirt that wraps around the body with refined drape, before fastening with a metal Japanese button and narrow self ties. This garment is made with Japanese sand washed satin and is designed to sit low on the waist.
Made with silk. Silk is made by silkworms which spin cocoons around themselves for protection during their transformation into moths. Once collected, cocoons are typically boiled, killing the worm to 1) prevent damaging the silk fibers when the moth emerges and 2) soften the silk fibers. Cocoons are then unwound into long, continuous threads, combined together, and later woven into fabrics. "Non-violent" or "wild silk" allows the silkworm to leave before harvesting the fibers, but will feel more a cross between silk and wool.
