Animal ranching, not logging, is the main reason for deforestation and all those animals need lots of food and water. When killed, their skins are treated with chemicals like Chromium which often pollute our water systems. Chemicals, polyurethane, and water are also used to make leather replacements but cactus-based materials often use less and handle them all more responsibly, all with plants instead of animals.
